Experience the beauty of traditional color-making in this hands-on introduction to natural dyeing on wool yarn. This class focuses on classic, historically significant dyes.
Participants will learn:
How natural dyes bond to wool fibers
How to properly scour and mordant wool to prepare it for dyeing
How to create dye baths using dyes like cochineal, madder, weld, and logwood
Methods for achieving rich, even solid-color results
How to set, rinse, and care for naturally dyed yarns
Each student will leave with their choice of one, two, or three wool skeins dyed with their choice of colors from these traditional dyepots.
No prior dyeing experience is necessary. All materials, tools, and dye sources are provided. Join us to explore centuries-old dye traditions and leave with your own hand-dyed wool in timeless natural hues.

Our classes are intended for adults (18+). Teens are welcome to attend when registered and accompanied by an adult.

Due to limited space and advance material prep, class fees are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, please contact us — we’re happy to help when possible.
What if a class is cancelled by Cozy Chaos Craft Co.?
In the rare event we need to cancel a class, you’ll receive a full refund or the option to transfer your registration to a future class.
