Explore Itajime Shibori, a traditional Japanese resist-dyeing technique that uses folding and compression to create striking geometric patterns. You’ll experiment with different folds, shapes, and clamping techniques and see how each choice changes the final design.
We’ll also explore the history of Shibori and teach you several classic techniques before you create your own one-of-a-kind dyed piece. Perfect patterns? Happy accidents? That’s part of the fun—you won’t know exactly what you’ve made until you unfold it!
No prior dyeing experience is needed.

Do I need prior experience?
Most of our classes are beginner-friendly unless noted otherwise. If a class requires specific skills, it will be clearly listed in the description.
What’s included with class registration?
Each class includes instruction and any materials listed on the class page. If supplies are included, you’ll take home what you use during class.
Can I bring my own tools or materials?
Yes! You’re welcome to bring your own tools or materials if you prefer. You’re welcome to bring your own tools or materials — the class price will remain the same.
What should I bring?
Just yourself and your curiosity. If there’s anything specific to bring, it will be listed in the class description.
How long are classes?
Most classes run between 1–3 hours. Exact times are listed on each class page.
Are classes beginner-friendly?
Many are! We clearly note skill level on every class listing so you know what to expect.
What’s the class atmosphere like?
Cozy, welcoming, and relaxed. We believe learning should feel supportive, not stressful.
Is there an age requirement?
Our classes are intended for adults (18+). Teens are welcome to attend when registered and accompanied by an adult.
What is your cancellation policy?
Due to limited space and advance material prep, class fees are non-refundable. If you’re unable to attend, please contact us — we’re happy to help when possible.
What if a class is cancelled by Cozy Chaos Craft Co.?
In the rare event we need to cancel a class, you’ll receive a full refund or the option to transfer your registration to a future class.
